Volunteer Opportunity

On-call advocate opportunity to work directly with victims of domestic violence

Description: The LAP (lethality assessment program) is a collaborative service with local law enforcement in which officers that are investigating a domestic violence situation contact the LAP advocate when a victim is assessed as being in a highly lethal relationship. LAP advocates speak briefly with the victim offering shelter options, and other services as well as short-term safety planning. Volunteers are required to carry and answer the phone at all times during their 24-hour shift.


Requirements for volunteers: LAP volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and sign up for at least two shifts per month. Instruction and training by the Crisis Center staff is required.

Volunteer Opportunity

Crisis Line Volunteer

Description: Volunteers answer our 24-hour crisis hotline during normal business hours and/or after hours/weekends in an on-call capacity. Staff and volunteers provide information to callers, crisis counseling to battered individuals and their children, and screening for admission to shelter. Shift length can vary with availability.


Requirements for volunteers: Instruction and training conducted by the Crisis Center staff is required. Crisis Line Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
