Agency Description:

Our mission is to bring free dental care to children across the world. Dental professionals and non-dental volunteers deliver treatment and preventive care in clinics that serve children in schools, orphanages and remote villages. With a vision to transform lives, GDR provides opportunities for diverse groups of volunteers to explore the world and bring free dental care and oral hygiene education to thousands of impoverished children in Nepal, India, Guatemala, Vietnam, Kenya and Cambodia.

Volunteer Opportunity

Guatemala: Mobile Dental Clinic in the Mayan Highlands

Description: Student volunteers will have the opportunity to serve as Dental Assistants, instruct kids in best practices for dental hygiene, and/or optimize clinic flow, all while working closely with children in need. Volunteers work in teams of 15-20, including dentists, hygienists and non-medically trained volunteers. In a typical week-long dental clinic, around 600 underprivileged children will receive quality dental care.
