Our mission is to promote the mental and emotional health of individuals and families in Colorado and around the world by providing professional, research-supported Animal Assisted Psychotherapy (AAP) with rescued animals to people of all socio-economic backgrounds. We also aim to increase the knowledge and ethical practice of AAP through our international training and Certification program for mental health professionals and students.

Description: Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado has immediate openings for volunteers to serve on the Associate Board. Join us in supporting this organization where rescued animals work alongside mental health therapists to help children, teenagers, adults, and families find healing. This is an incredible opportunity to build your resume with Board of Director's experience while expanding your network and developing leadership and practical nonprofit management skills. This is a new board whose primary responsibilities will be assisting the Board of Directors with fundraising and Capital Campaign development. Come make a difference with us!

Requirements for volunteers: Utilize individual expertise to assist with planning and coordination of AATPC-sponsored events, fundraisers, etc. Time allocation to perform responsibilities including: Attend regularly scheduled Associate Board meetings, held once every other month (or a maximum of monthly) Attend majority of planning meetings/conferences as scheduled Attend majority of fundraising activities and events Stay informed about AATPC matters by reviewing the newsletters, preparing for meetings, and participating in discussions Learn how to conduct meetings using Parliamentary Procedure while gaining experience in outreach, networking, public speaking, group decision-making, developing programs, grant research, etc. Make a minimum $60 annual donation to the organization Endorse and support AATPC’s vision Assist in boosting content reach by engaging in social media platforms Provide referrals for new members, sponsors, and donors
